Spectacular sun-filled, south-facing luxury canal-side triplex, overlooking Notting Hill and far beyond. Includes a wonderful, 20-foot-high, penthouse loft with floating bedroom platform.

Owned and built by a Scandinavian designer, this ultra-stylish but quiet and very cozy and romantic apartment has been crafted with wit and love and has never previously been rented except for the occasional fashion shoot. Sleeping up to eight people, the apartment has great transport links, free WiFi and unlimited telephone calls to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom.

A private entrance and mural-decorated staircase leads up to the higher floors of a red brick Victorian house. On the lower floor there is one bedroom with its own south-facing balcony overlooking the canal and Meanwhile Gardens (a small nature reserve), a master bedroom with en suite bathroom and another bathroom. Both bathrooms have showers and jetted tubs.

Continuing up a further short flight of stairs, you emerge firstly into the fully-fitted kitchen with another balcony and a wonderfully positioned breakfast table from where you can lazily sip your coffee and enjoy the south-facing view over Notting Hill and the magnificent London skyline. Turn another corner and you are in the triplex's huge double-leveled penthouse loft with twin fireplaces. Seeing is believing. Part of it leads up to the roof terrace which is well lit and fitted with outdoor heater (for al fresco night-time winter reading?).

A further part leads up to the gravity-defying floating bed and study in the attic space, from where you can laze and gaze forever, over your friends downstairs or the birds and boats on the canal, or just out over the amazing view. All nine windows are fitted with blinds, but seem to be rarely used - no wonder!

Balconies overlooking the canal from both the kitchen and the guest bedroom. The living room and floating bedroom platform, guest bedroom and kitchen all over look the Grand Union, England's longest and most beautiful canal, and onwards over Notting Hill and the whole city.


Location

The house is located on a quiet Victorian street, some of whose houses, almost in secret back, onto the Grand Union canal. It is perfectly positioned for explorations all over the capital. A delightful short stroll along the canal takes you to the quaint café’s, antique and junk shops and market of the Golborne Road and Portobello Road that leads you in turn to Notting Hill.

Cinema, Night Club, Restaurant, Shopping, Tennis, Theatre, Zoo/Wildlife Park

A five minute bus trip will get you to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, and a fifteen minute journey will take you to either the theatres of the West End or to Camden Market, arguably the only genuine competitor to Portobello road for multicultural people-watching and wild street fashion.

Paddington station, two stops by tube or a few minutes by taxi has the non-stop Heathrow Express which takes twenty minutes to get to any terminal. By arrangement ‘a mini-cab’ can be sent to meet you at any of London’s four airports.

Sehr geehrtes Team von Wimdu,
zuerst: wir sind sehr zufrieden mit Rowan und seinem Team. Allerdings sind wir verstimmt über das Verhalten des Besitzers des von uns am 01.01.2014!!! gebuchten Appartements 12a Hormead Road. Offensichtlich hat dieser das Appartement selber vermietet, so dass uns Rowan im Mai das Haus in St. Charles Square anbieten musste:
(My name is Rowan and I am managing this property on behalf of the owner. I must first thank you kindly for choosing to book with us, however, I must apologise as I am writing with mixed news regarding your booking with us. Unfortunately we now have an issue with this property and we will not be able to accommodate your stay at 12a Hormead Road, London. This is due to the owner having booked the use of the apartment for themselves without our knowledge.

I have tried everything in my power to resolve this with the owners but sadly I cannot change their decision to keep the house for their own use. As such, I have now found another of our properties which is still available for your dates as a possible replacement. Please see the link below to view this house....).
Noch einmal, wir sind mit Rowan und seinem Team (insbesondere Peter) sehr zufrieden, aber sie sollten überlegen, ob sie den Besitzer des Appartementes in der Hormead Road weiter in ihrem Bestand behalten wollen.

Die Wohnung war einfach einmalig schön, die Lage verkehrsgünstig ( 5 min zur Tube) und der Verwalter entgegenkommend und unkompliziert, alles in allem kann ich diese Wohnung nur empfehlen.

Après une entrée dans les lieux avec un retard de 3 heures ( travaux d'amélioration le jour d'une arrivée!), tout est conforme. appartement spacieux, bien aménagé et décoré avec goût. couchage de qualité et large.
insonorisation moyenne (voie rapide a proximité)
vue dégagé sur le canal et un parc agréable.
proximité du métro et du bus à 300 m.
A louer sans hésitation

Leider ist unsere wunderschöne Londonreise vorbei. Rowan hat sich perfekt und unkompliziert um alles gekümmert, nochmals herzlichen Dank.
Die Wohnung bietet ausreichend Platz für acht Frauen. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet (Geschirrspüler, Mikrowelle, Backofen, Wasserkocher usw. und sehr gemütlich. Alles wahr sehr sauber und ordentlich aber stark renovierungsbedürftig.
Es hat uns gut gefallen und wir würden die Wohnung (nach erfolgter Renovierung) jederzeit wieder mieten.

Een gezellig en artistiek huis in een minder mooie buurt. We waren met negen mensen, maar er zijn voor max. 8 personen goede bedden.

Hallo wir waren 3 Paare mittleren Alters und fanden die Wohnung über 3 Ebenen toll. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich.Der Ausblick auf den Kanl ist sehr angenehm. Der Kontakt ist sehr gut und unkompliziert.
Negativ und hier sollte der Eigentümer einmal etwas investieren ist folgendes:
Die obere Terrasse sollte einmal revoviert werden, dann macht es auch Spaß bei schönem Wetter draussen zu sitzen.
Bitte auch einmal den Wasserkocher und die Kaffeemaschine austauschen, sowie den Kühlschrank u. die Geschirrspülmaschine überprüfen.
Nicht so toll war, das in der Kaffeemaschine und im Wasserkocher noch Reste vom Vormieter waren. Wen dies behoben wird ist es perfekt.

Sehr individuell ausgestattete Wohnung. Hat Platz für 8 Personen. Wegzeit zur U-Bahn 5min. Die Fenster sind nicht ganz dicht aber ansonsten ein toller Aufenthalt.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und haben abends unsere Planungen für den nächsten Tag mit WiFi am großen Esstisch geplant.

Vi hade bra kommunikation med lägenhetsinnehavaren innan vi åkte dit och fick nycklar som avtalat när vi kom fram. Lägenheten var städad och i bra skick. Det ingick dessutom sängkläder vilket vi inte hade förväntat oss! Det mesta i lägenheten fungerade bra. Det var bara några småsaker som kunde fungerat bättre t.ex. kaffebryggaren. Det tog ca 40 minuter att brygga en kanna kaffe! Men det gjorde inte så mycket, vi kunde umgås längre vid frukosten!
Fönstren var inte täta men det är de nog inte i några engelska hus! Nu var vi där i maj och det var hyfsat varmt ute så det gick bra ändå. Men blåser det ute så drar det rätt mycket.
Lägenheten ligger i ett bra område med kort avstånd till såväl underground/buss som affärer och restauranger/pubar.
Sammantaget tyckte vi det var fem bra dagar och lägenheten passade oss två familjer med tio personer riktigt bra.

We had a very nice time in London. It is a nice house. The beds are good. Everyting you need for self catering is available . For London standards the house had much space. Realy nice for a groep or big family. Nice pubs and grocery shops in the neighbourhood.
