Accommodation
The room has an oriental theme, with a king-size hardwood four poster bed, made in Bali Indonesia. The textiles include cotton sheets, Indian and Thai silk and satin embroidered textiles, some of which are hand embroidered. There is a goose feather duvet and feather pillows.
The room is a simple, uncluttered white room with white wooden floors and oriental prints on the wall. The apartment also has a large roof garden. The roof garden upstairs from the flat is communally shared between eight apartments and often becomes a private beer garden and barbecue area in the summer evenings; we have very friendly neighbours who are often to be found on the roof garden (which is lit up at night) late into the summer evenings.
I have been a world traveller throughout my life and am quite used to flatsharing. You are welcome to use the kitchen; there is an abundance of shops and supermarkets in the area where you can source your own groceries; however I prepeare a continental breakfast in the morning and you are welcome to help yourself to coffee, tea, toast and snacks at any time of the day or night; there is also a kettle and some tea and coffee in your bedroom.
The price is for the room; not per person, by the way.
This is essentially a flatshare in a two bedroom flat; the only persons you would be sharing with are myself and my boyfriend. If you require the entire two bedroom flat (Sleeps 4) which has two oriental themed rooms, both with four poster beds, please see my other listing. This listing is just for the one bedroom (sleeps 2) and is ideal for couples or single persons.
The apartment is usually full of flowers and plants, so if you suffer from hay fever please let me know in advance.
I also have high speed unlimited broadband, if you require internet access.
Location
The apartment is a short walk to Elephant and Castle (Zone1) underground station or Kennington (Zone 2).
The property is part of the "Pullen's Buildings" which is a conservation area of listed Victorian apartment buildings and workshops built between 1886 to 1901. The apartment is on the top floor (third floor) and overlooks the artist's studios of Peacock Yard. The artist's studios below include potters, a lute maker, architects, dress makers, florists and jewellery designers such as Alex Monroe. Famous ex-resident's of the Pullen's apartments include Charlie Chaplain and Naomi Campbell.
The street is very quiet in the evening as it is a cul-de-sac and there is no through traffic. It is within walking distance (25+ minutes) to the South Bank (River Thames) museums and theatres, or one stop on the underground (to Waterloo). I am five stops on the underground south of Picadilly Circus on the Bakerloo line. You can see the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye in the distance from the roof garden.
Parking: there is ample free parking in the evenings and weekends. There is no free parking weekdays; during the weekdays there are parking meters, or you I can drive you to a residential area a couple of miles to the south of here where there is free parking. I can also provide daily visitor's parking permits so that you may park in the resident's parking zones outside the flat; these cost £3.50 per day from the local council, but please let me know in advance if you need parking as I often run out of tickets.

Lambeth is located in south central London and is the home to Tate Modern - a visit is a must for contemporary art lovers. Tate Modern is located on the amazing South Bank, which is full of bars and restaurants, and an amazing place to stroll around.
Lambeth is only a bridge away from Westminster, where you will find Big Ben and the beautiful buildings of Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.
Hyde Park is a short journey away, where you will find Kensington Gardens. On the east side off Hyde Park you will reach Oxford Street, the most famous shopping street in London with shops such as Selfridges and Debenhams. Most attractions of London are within easy reach, such as Piccadilly Circus, Madame Tussauds and Tower of London.
There are plenty of tube stations in the area that will take you wherever you want to go in London. If you want to enjoy the extensive night life London has to offer, there are also plenty of buses and night buses running 24/7 from all directions in London.
