Even though we did not meet Valerie she made all arrangements to receive us. Everything was great. A few (small) things of note: the apartment does not have much circulation for which the air is a bit stale and caused us allergies (sneezing, etc.). The photo shows a round table with two nice chairs which we were counting on for a romantic dinner; these were not there. Other than that the place is great, with metro nearby, etc.
This is an excellent accommodation if you plan to be out sightseeing a lot. Extra points for: location, tranquility at night(!), the comfortable bed and the wonderful shower. See if you can find an affordable hotel in Paris with these characteristics... I enjoyed the radio, and I liked that you can close the door (well, almost) on the humming refrigerator. I felt quite safe on Rue Bellefond and in the building, which is important when you're a single woman traveller and you're getting home late in the evening.
Deduction for: the messiness of the kitchen cabinets and dirty utensils (better do some dish washing before you use them). Also the room feels a bit cramped because of the oversized furniture, but that's a matter of taste. And I was about to leave for Gare du Nord when the cleaning lady came to basically tell me off for not having left yet. My fault, my French is rusty and on arrival I had apparently agreed to leave 15 minutes earlier than I thought. The toilet seat is cracked, so if you're wondering what keeps biting you in the buttocks..!
All in all, I had a wonderful time in Paris and my comfortable stay at Valéries appartement certainly contributed to that.
A very nice appartment with a perfect location middle in Montmartre, 3 min. to the mètro station Poissonière. Small, but absolutely sufficient for tourists who want to see as much of Paris as possible. The couch can be changed in a very comfortable big bed. The Rue de Bellafond is a quiet small street, so you can rest in the night undisturbed. A Carrefour market is on the other end of the street, approx. 5 min. walk.
We spent there a wonderful week! The communication with Valèrie was perfect, very nice and unproblematic. Thank you, Valèrie!
Excelent. Valérie is a great hostess, the studio is in a great place, near from: the train station, the center from Paris, the supermarkets and bakeries. The studio has everything you need, and the shower is great! thank you for eveything and I hope to come back someday.
It was easy to book the stay with Wimdu, and they followed up with the booking - thanks.
The room is good and clean, not large, but there is enough room for two.Location is very convenient - near metro (subway), walking distance from Gare du Nord and Opera.
We called the owner once one day before arrival, she was nice and friendly. We would like to stay at this studio next time.
We stayed in this apartment in July 2014 and we really enjoyed the experience! the location is great and there was everything we needed! Valérie was very helpful and answered all our questions. I really recommend this accommodation.
Apartment: We really enjoyed our one week stay: The apartment has a good size for two people. There are draws and closet space for clothes and no excess furniture. Nice and simple, yet it’s all there. Nice bed (when the sofa is folded out), small table and 2 chairs for eating the meals, mostly breakfast, nice lightening for a Scandinavian (not just spotlight in the ceiling but a choice of cosy, relaxing lightening). A small “kitchen” with all the convenience of electrical oven and stove (however small, of course). Check the fridge before shopping. The previous guests might have left juice, eggs or other foods. The big and nice surprise was the coffeemaker Sensero. Nice with good coffee each morning. And a “shoe cleaner”. To start with we wondered why, but after a day’s walk we knew the answer. You will enjoy that, too. The wifi made a difference. One of us don’t understand French television, so we went on the internet on our iPad and listened to Danish radio as well as watched Danish television.
Location: It’s nice situated in a quiet street, 10 minutes’ walk from Sacre Coeur in Montmartre. A local supermarket down the street with a huge variety of groceries, French as well as foreign products. Reasonable prices. Lots of special stores in the neighbourhood, for instance wine shops, bakeries, cheese shops, lots of restaurants. It’s a very nice area. And just 10 minutes away are the busy streets of crowds of tourists, souvenir shops and another side of Paris.
The hostess: We got a quick reply when booking the apartment. We had good contact before the visit, and Valérie kindly answered all our questions by mail. We called her contact person, who lives in the street, the day before the arrival to inform her of our estimated time of arrival and when we stood in front of the door, she was there within 5 minutes and kindly explained about the apartment and answered our questions. She would be in the neighbourhood if we needed her during the week, she said. Nice to know, but we did fine on our own.
The arrival: We arrived at CDG Airport and caught bus 350 to Gare de l’Est for 6 Euro a piece and walked to the apartment from the train station (you can also ride the Metro one station). It was a 15 min. walk.
The return: We had an early flight out of Paris, and no public transport was running at that time. We found a taxi company called WeCab. You share the cab with other passengers, who are also going to the airport. We paid 39 Euro when making the booking over the phone. We were picked up at 4.15 and were at the airport at 5.00. We can highly recommend that service.
All together: We had a great week and we agreed that it was important to have a nice place to stay. We would probably choose the same apartment if it’s available when we visit Paris the next time.
This apartament is very cosy and comfortable. Location is really good. You can fell this amazing atmosphere of Paris. Closed to subway. I recommend it for everyone. Hope we'll come back there.
Nice studio, funitures a bit old but everything clean and works.
Great idea:small cooker plus coffe machine allow to prepare real french breakfast:) Metro, shops, restaurants really nearby. Sacre Coeur in walking distance 15min. Friendly deposit policy, We recommend, Kasia and Bartosz, Poland
